Prof. Dr. Matthias Haase from the Zurich University of Applied Sciences, represented PEDvolution at the BauSIM conference which was organised by the Technical University of Vienna (partner of the PEDvolution consortium) between 23rd & 27th of September 2024 in Vienna.

BauSIM has been held under the auspices of IBPSA (International Building Simulation Association) since 2006 and takes place every two years. Since August 2023, IBPSA-DACH has included Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The focus of the conference is on simulation methods for buildings, neighborhoods and cities for a successful transformation of the building stock to climate neutrality with high resident satisfaction, security of supply and resilience in a world of climate change.

Among the topics of interest, this year the conference focused on Energy-efficient building and district modelling (including i. District, building and facility simulation ii. Renewable and decentralized energy systems, iii. Communication of building technology and iv. Energy supply infrastructure), as well as Monitoring of Buildings and Neighborhoods.

On Tuesday 24th of September 2024, during the presentation entitled “Accommodating the constant Evolution of PEDs“ PEDvolution’s overall scope, objectives and expected outcomes of this ambitious project were presented. The goal went beyond disseminating the project itself and discussing its progress and activities with highly experienced experts, and also aimed at further cultivating relationships with field experts and researchers who may be interested in becoming involved and contributing towards the project’s overall development. Additionally, participation aimed to connect with experts who could potentially benefit from the project results in the future.
