The Monitoring & Evaluation Task Group of the Scalable Cities and Communities (SCC) has recently published the report From Data to Decisions: Key Lessons from the SCC Projects — and PEDvolution is proud to have contributed with valuable insight from VITO, Intracom Telecom, and INLECOM.

The publication explores how cities can use data to improve decision-making across planning and policy domains, outlining requirements, tools, ethical considerations, and strategic recommendations to guide a data-driven transformation of urban governance. It presents an evidence-informed framework supporting cities on their pathway to climate neutrality, in response to growing urban complexity driven by population growth, environmental pressures, evolving technologies, and social disparities.

The report also highlights how digital tools, analytics, and participatory approaches can turn urban data into actionable governance, while addressing challenges related to scaling and replication across Europe through open standards and collaboration. It concludes with a clear call to action: cities must align leadership, governance, technology, and citizen engagement to accelerate progress towards climate-neutral and resilient urban futures.
